Hi from the land of the midnight sun! Whitehorse, Yukon Territory Canada on line!
G'day every1.
I have had the wii now since they first came out... and I can say that this system definitely gets it's use. Everyday in some form or another we are on the wii.
We purchased the wii fit when it also came out, and have had it for almost a year now and we enjoy it very much.
This has definitely helped us be more active during the long, cold winter months - cause when it's dark 18 hours out of the day, one tends to want to sleep alot.
It's great to have an outlet on line to chat with other wii'ers to discuss different tactics and such.
I am 41, mother of 2 active girls (8/5), and I work full time shifts as an air traffic specialist. So it's never a dull moment around our house.. much like everyone else who has small kids. I do have an elliptical and a bowflex, but I find I have more fun on the wii.
I am heavier, 5'9" and 285lbs, but can still move pretty good... my problem is what I'm eating. I work out almost everyday in some form, but with a husband that works evenings all week, I'm left by myself and usually gravitate to emotional eating. I have to be at work for 6am so really I should be sleeping, but find it's the only time in the day that I have to myself... I SHOULD BE EITHER ON HERE NOW OR ON WII FIT! Looking for encouragement from others in similar circumstances.
Hope to hear from every1 regardless of their situation - maybe we can all help each other in some form or another.
Cheers, Diane
PS... This morning, Feb 23/09 ... we woke up to -30C (that's -22F for the USA people!)... I rest my case... BRRRRRRR

Hi Diane!
Welcome to the WiiFit Forum. I found this myself a few days ago and it's a great place! Yikes is it cold out where you live! It's been cold here in Massachusetts and a lot of snow this winter but not that cold!! I know what it's like having a husband work the overnight shift. My husband did that for about ten years and a couple of years ago went back to the second shift so he's now here overnight which is nice.
I'm about the same height and weight (5'10 & 262 lbs) as you and a few years older (44). I even have 2 daughters mine are 19 & 22 so they're not little anymore. At that stage in my life where the weight doesn't want to come off as easy as it used to do but at least the benefits of exercise make it worth doing it just for those benefits. You sound like you are in very good health despite the extra weight. That's my main goal, I'm hoping the weight will come off too but lowering my blood pressure and cholesterol and hopefully preventing the onset of diabetes is my more important goal.
Best wishes to you!
Brenda
